Fischer Middle School

Fischer Middle School serves grades 6 through 8 in Indian Prairie School District 204. The building is at 1305 Long Grove Drive in Aurora. Unlike Still, whose Aurora address hides an attendance area full of Naperville subdivisions, Fischer’s attendance area really is concentrated in Aurora, in the Oakhurst and Fox Valley areas. It is listed here because District 204 families comparing schools need the whole set, and because Fischer is most often relevant to a Naperville reader as the school a nearby subdivision is not assigned to.

Fischer is where District 204’s own list repeats a subdivision name most often, and it is worth reading carefully before trusting a name. Three names appear twice, once under Fischer and once under a different middle school. Mayfair is Cowlishaw, Still and Metea Valley, while Mayfair at Oakhurst is Steck, Fischer and Waubonsie Valley. Summerfield is Welch, Scullen and Neuqua Valley, while Summerfield at Oakhurst is Steck, Fischer and Waubonsie Valley. Diamond Bay is split by a single street: north of McCoy it is Cowlishaw, Granger and Metea Valley, and south of McCoy it is McCarty, Fischer and Waubonsie Valley. All three of the district’s high schools appear across those pairs, so a name match alone can put a family at the wrong school.
