The Naperville Municipal Band presents its Fall Concert on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Wentz Concert Hall on the North Central College campus in downtown Naperville. The band's promotional graphic for the afternoon is titled The Sounds of Autumn, and the program mixes an overture, marches and an arrangement of Autumn Leaves.
Whether you know the band from its Thursday night summer concerts in Naperville's Central Park or are hearing it for the first time, the Fall Concert is a chance to hear the band indoors on a Sunday afternoon.
Why You Can't Miss the Naperville Municipal Band Fall Concert at Wentz Concert Hall
The Naperville Municipal Band has been entertaining the people of Naperville and the surrounding suburbs since 1859, and its roster has grown to more than 70 members. The band presents four indoor concerts: a fall concert, a holiday concert, a winter concert often in partnership with a local high school, and a spring concert. It also performs in the Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony, the Veterans Day Ceremony, the 9/11 Ceremony and the Labor Day Last Fling Parade.
The Program
The band's website lists this program for the Fall Concert:
- Yorkshire Overture, Philip Sparke
- Entry March of the Boyares, Johan Halvorsen (arr. Laurendeau)
- Funiculi-Funicula Rhapsody, Luigi Denza (arr. Goto)
- Autumn Leaves, Joseph Kosma (arr. A. Reed)
- Darklands Legends, Randall Standridge: Mvt. I, Dance of the Mad Prince, and Mvt. III, The Queen’s Masque
- Vanished Army (They Never Say Die), Kenneth Alford (ed. Fennell)
- Hymn for the Innocent, Julie Giroux
- Post 43 March: The American Legion, Ronald J. Keller
- The Homefront Musical Memories of WWII, arr. James Christensen
- Armed Forces Salute, arr. Ronald Keller & Wm. Jastrow
What to Expect
The band is led by director Emily Binder and associate director William Jastrow. Several selections on the program nod to military service, including Post 43 March: The American Legion, The Homefront Musical Memories of WWII and the Armed Forces Salute, while Autumn Leaves matches the seasonal title on the band's promotional graphic, The Sounds of Autumn.
