Join the Naperville community on Monday, May 25, 2026, for a day of reflection, gratitude, and tribute. Organized by the Naperville Memorial Day Parade Committee, this long-standing tradition honors the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

The day is more than just a parade; it is a series of solemn “Roll Call” ceremonies at local monuments, culminating in a grand procession through the heart of downtown and a final community observance.

What to Expect

  • The Parade: At 10:30 AM, the streets of downtown Naperville fill with the sounds of marching bands, patriotic floats, and veteran organizations. You’ll see local scout troops carrying banners honoring the fallen, vintage military vehicles, and various community groups paying their respects.

  • Morning Memorial Services: Dedicated residents can follow the “circuit” of wreath-laying ceremonies starting at 7:45 AM, visiting sites like the Dan Shanower 9/11 Memorial and the G.A.R. Monument.

  • Central Park Ceremony: Immediately following the parade (approx. 12:00 PM), the community gathers at the Central Park pavilion for a 30-minute observance featuring patriotic music from the Naperville Municipal Band, guest speakers, and a final wreath-laying at the park’s war memorial.
