Beautifully EmpowHERed

Beautifully EmpowHERed, known as BE, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit at 1701 Quincy Avenue, Unit 11, in Naperville that helps women and teen girls heal, grow and thrive. Founded in 2020, it combines mental health support, career resources, mentorship programs and community events. The Quincy Avenue space holds both The Shop at BE and the Beautifully EmpowHERed Center, where workshops and gatherings take place.

Its Mental Health Resources program offers free and low-cost counseling for teens and women, ages 13 and up, who face barriers to care, such as Medicaid or HMO coverage, no insurance or long waits. After a short intake form, BE matches each person with a licensed Illinois therapist at a partner private practice for in-person or virtual counseling, and BE funds the sessions, up to eight per person according to its program page. Free mental health workshops are offered as well.

Career Resources include a Career Exploration Call, a Resume Review and a Mock Interview with trained volunteers, plus help with a LinkedIn presence, all requested through an online form. The Shop at BE is a community-driven resale shop in Naperville with affordable, gently used business casual and professional clothing donated by women in the community, including a career clothing closet. Everyone is welcome to shop, and every purchase funds BE’s programs.

The Big Sis Lil Sis Mentorship Program pairs high school girls with junior high girls through workshops, picnics and community service projects, and the EmpowHER Network matches college women with women mentors one-on-one. Women-owned businesses and mission-aligned nonprofits can apply to rent the Beautifully EmpowHERed Center for workshops, team meetings and networking. Evening workshops and community events run by RSVP, and the EmpowHER HER Scholarship supports women at Illinois colleges; current dates and deadlines are posted on the website.

The Shop at BE is open seven days a week, with evening hours Monday through Thursday, and Google lists a free on-site parking lot and a wheelchair accessible entrance. Because BE is a 501(c)(3), donations are tax-deductible to the extent the law allows, and it also welcomes volunteers, interns, sponsors and partners.
