Metea Valley High School

Metea Valley High School serves grades 9-12 in Indian Prairie School District 204. The campus is at 1801 North Eola Road in Aurora, and like the district’s other two high schools it draws students from well beyond its own municipal address, including a substantial portion of northern and eastern Naperville.

Metea Valley opened in August 2009 as District 204’s third high school and is home of the Mustangs. Like Waubonsie Valley, it takes its name from a Potawatomi leader, Chief Metea. It offers the district’s full high school program, including Advanced Placement and honors coursework, world languages, fine arts, career and technical education, athletics and a broad slate of student clubs.

District 204’s official subdivision-to-school list assigns a number of Naperville neighborhoods to Metea Valley, including Brookdale, Estes Park, Country Lakes, Mayfair, Wildflower, Lakewood Crossing, Riverbrook West, Buttonwood and West Wind Estates. Brookdale in particular is often grouped with nearby District 203 neighborhoods because it shares the 60563 ZIP code with them, but 60563 straddles both districts. Assignments follow the address, not the ZIP code or the subdivision name, so confirm a specific property against the district’s current list.

On the 2024-2025 Illinois Report Card, Metea Valley enrolled 2,726 students, posted a 94.9 percent graduation rate, and received a summative designation of Commendable School, meaning it had no underperforming student groups and a graduation rate above the state threshold.
