Watch: First-Time Visitor Tips at DuPage Children’s Museum

In this Living in Naperville short, Dan Firks, Founder and CEO of the Dan Firks Team at Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group, asks Cassie at DuPage Children’s Museum what parents should know before a first visit. Cassie covers the seven-day schedule, parking next to the doors, why memberships reward repeat play, and the spare-clothes rule for the water area.

Hours Cassie mentions, plus one closure to check

Cassie is right that the museum is open seven days a week for general admission. The official Plan Your Visit page lists Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm, with members-only mornings on Mondays and Thursdays from 8 to 9 am. The museum is also closed September 8 to 18, 2026, for annual maintenance, so a first visit in mid-September should wait until it reopens.

Dan Firks: So, Cassie, tell me, what should parents know before visiting for the first time, including your hours, parking, membership, and how long should they plan on staying?

Cassie: So DuPage Children’s Museum is open seven days a week for fun. We have convenient parking options around the museum.

Dan Firks: Parked right in front?

Cassie: Yes, exactly. Right next to the doors.

Dan Firks: Yes, I did.

Cassie: When families come and visit to the museum, we try to remind them of the value of our memberships. Repeat visits are so important for learning as the child grows. And memberships are a great value. And then as a mom, I always like to remind people to make sure they bring a change of clothes for our water area, because you’re going to get wet.

Dan Firks: That is great insight. Thank you for sharing.

Cassie: Of course.
