Faculty Recital Series – Chamber Music featuring Balourdet Quartet

North Central College welcomes the internationally acclaimed Balourdet Quartet to Wentz Concert Hall for a captivating evening of chamber music. Awarded the 2024 Avery Fisher Career Grant and Chamber Music America’s 2024 Cleveland Quartet Award, the Balourdet Quartet is celebrated for its vibrant energy, emotional depth, and “infectious spirit”.

Formed in 2018 at the Taos School of Music, the ensemble has quickly risen to prominence, securing prestigious graduate residencies at the New England Conservatory and Indiana University, alongside top prizes at international string quartet competitions. Beyond the stage, the Quartet is deeply committed to community engagement and music-based wellness programs.

For this special faculty recital, the Quartet collaborates with North Central College piano faculty member Susan Chou. The evening’s program will feature: • Beethoven’s String Quartet, Op. 18, No. 3 • Dvořák’s Piano Quintet, Op. 81
