Golfers, mark your calendars for the Naperville Men’s Amateur Championship, a standout 36-hole event hosted by Naperville Park District Golf. Taking place Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, 2026, the tournament splits play between Naperbrook Golf Course on day one and Springbrook Golf Course on day two, giving local and visiting amateurs a true test across two challenging DuPage County layouts.

Open to male amateurs 18 and older with an official USGA handicap, this is your chance to compete in flights based on skill level, battle for flight titles, and chase the overall championship. Whether you’re a low-handicap player aiming for the top gross score or a higher-handicap golfer looking for net competition, the event delivers serious golf right here in the Naperville area.

Tournament Format and Flights

The championship features 36-hole medal play with 18 holes each day. Championship flight (0-4 handicap) tees off from the gold tees, while all other flights use the blue tees. Flights A through D are scored gross; E flight (17+ handicap) plays net with 95% of converted course handicap. The lowest gross score in the Championship flight earns the title of Naperville Men’s Amateur Champion.

Handicap ranges are clearly defined: Championship (0-4), A (5-7), B (8-10), C (11-13), D (14-16), and E (17+ with a maximum course handicap of 36). Handicaps are determined from the blue tees at Springbrook. A keep-pace policy helps rounds move efficiently, targeting 4 hours 16 minutes or less per 18 holes.

What’s Included and Eligibility

Your $180 entry covers greens fees for both courses, range balls, prizes, and lunch each day. Trophies go to the winner of every flight. Registration is open online, by mail, or in person at Springbrook or Naperbrook through Sunday, July 12, 2026. Cancellations up to five days prior receive a full refund; later cancellations incur a 25% fee.

You must be a male amateur 18 or older with a valid USGA handicap (or willing to establish one through the courses’ handicap club). The effective handicap date is July 13, 2026. Brooks Links members can register in person or by phone for any applicable discount.

Starting Times and Daily Schedule

Tee times begin at 7:00 a.m. both days, with Saturday’s round at Naperbrook Golf Course (22204 W. 111th St / Hassert Blvd, Plainfield) and Sunday’s round at Springbrook Golf Course (2220 W. 83rd St, Naperville). Starting times will be posted by Wednesday, July 15.
