As the Fourth of July approaches, communities across DuPage County come together to celebrate American freedom and those who protect it. Right here in our backyard, the Wheaton Field of Honor 2026 offers residents and visitors a powerful, moving way to reflect on service and sacrifice.
Whether you’re a Naperville local looking for meaningful ways to mark the holiday or a visitor exploring the area, this free display of more than 2,000 American flags at Seven Gables Park creates an unforgettable experience just minutes from downtown Naperville.
Why You Can't Miss Wheaton Field of Honor 2026
Marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, this fifth-annual event transforms Seven Gables Park into a sea of red, white, and blue. Each of the 2,000 flags stands in solemn formation, dedicated to active-duty military, veterans, first responders, fallen heroes, and hometown champions.
Hosted by the Wheaton Park District in partnership with Warrenville VFW Post 8081, the display runs daily from June 29 through July 4, 2026, giving you plenty of time to visit during the long holiday weekend.
What to Expect
Stroll through the precisely aligned rows of flags and feel the sense of unity and gratitude that fills the park. Evening programs add live patriotic elements each night, including bagpipe performances by Tunes of Glory, vocalists, honor guards, flyovers (weather permitting), and the playing of Taps.
An opening ceremony on June 30 at 6:30 p.m. kicks things off with special tributes, while subsequent nights feature local performers and community groups. The entire experience is free and open to all ages.

It’s the perfect low-cost outing for families, couples, or anyone seeking a patriotic highlight during the July 4th celebrations.
