Women Imagineers in the World of Disney

Naperville residents and Disney fans have a special reason to log on this November. On Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the Naperville Public Library presents Women Imagineers in the World of Disney…a free virtual program spotlighting the trailblazing women behind the magic of Disney theme parks.

Whether you’re a longtime Imagineering enthusiast, a parent introducing kids to creative careers, or simply looking for an engaging evening from the comfort of home, this one-hour Zoom session offers an uplifting look at innovation, perseverance, and the stories that built beloved attractions around the globe.

Why You Can't Miss Women Imagineers in the World of Disney

Presented by Valerie Gugala, the program dives into the personal journeys of women who helped design and create iconic Disney experiences. Their creativity turned sketches and ideas into three-dimensional worlds that millions enjoy every year.

In a field once dominated by men, these Imagineers broke barriers while contributing to everything from show design and lighting to concept architecture and color theory. The session highlights how their ingenuity continues to influence parks worldwide.

What to Expect During the Virtual Presentation

Over the course of the hour, you’ll hear inspiring stories of creativity and problem-solving that brought Disney attractions to life. The focus stays on the women’s individual experiences and the collaborative spirit of Imagineering.

Registration is required through the library’s Zoom link, and an email with the meeting details arrives automatically after you sign up. The format keeps things conversational and accessible for adults interested in design, history, or Disney lore.
